Yuga Labs Launches Koda Nexus in Otherside Metaverse with Amazon NFT Collaboration
Yuga Labs is set to unveil the Koda Nexus, a central social and interactive hub within its Otherside metaverse, on November 12. The launch coincides with a partnership with Amazon Gaming to introduce co-branded NFT avatars, enabling users to explore the Bored Ape Yacht Club-themed VIRTUAL world. The Otherside project, initiated in 2022 with the sale of digital land parcels called Otherdeeds, has undergone extensive development, including playtests and experimental game modes.
The Koda Nexus represents the first phase of a three-layer strategy, followed by a gaming LAYER featuring quests and battles, and the Otherside Development Kit (ODK) for creator-led content. Yuga Labs emphasized the significance of the launch, framing it as a transformative moment rather than a mere update. The announcement was made during ApeFest in Las Vegas, underscoring the company's commitment to building an always-on, evolving metaverse experience.
